The beer pours an attractive golden orange colour, with a foaming white head. It has a typical Belgian yeast nose, with lemon citrus, mild spicing and a little floral hoppiness.
Sweet malts and tropical fruits are immediately apparent in the taste, quickly joined by a pleasant level of hop bitterness. For a blond, there is a lot of complexity to the flavour, The beer finishes out quite dry, with a lingering fruity bitterness.
About the beer: Michael Jackson (the Beer Hunter, not the one-gloved singer) once described Valeir Blond as ‘one of Belgium’s best kept secrets’. Looks like that secret is now out of the bag!
