The Hopus Primeur is a seasonal beer brewed in the European spring. It uses Hopus as the base beer, which is then dry-hopped with Citra.
It pours a slightly cloudy golden colour, with a white frothy head. The grassy, floral hop aroma is jumps out of the glass as the beer is being poured.
The flavour is a lively mouthful of fresh grassy, floral hops. There is a little malt sweetness if you look hard, especially as the beer warms a little. But it really is a beer for the hop lover.
And the chalice glass and shot are still awesome!
Interesting Fact: the name Hopus is a combination of ‘hops’ and ‘opus’ which is Latin for ‘work’. Not too certain of the reasoning behind this, as it certainly isn’t hard work drinking this beer!
