This beer is one we look forward to every year now. For the past few years, the brewers at Duvel add one extra hop to the brew, and also dry-hop with the same. The result is a unique beer for that year.
For 2014, the additional hop chosen is the US hop Mosaic.
The aroma is full of lemon/lime and nectarine citrus, with some very floral, grassy hop notes.
All of these attributes carry through into the taste. A lovely big tropical fruit sweetness, with good carbonation, crisp grainy malts and lovely peppery hop bitterness.
History of Duvel Tripel Hop: the style was first brewed in 2007, and then again repeated in 2010. Thanks to a facebook campaign, the style found a permanent place in the Duvel line-up since 2012.
