T
he brewer won the award of Best Hobby Brewer 2012 for the Prearis Quadrupel, and the IPA is a very nice beer as well.
‘No Hops, No Glory’ is a beautiful, slightly hazy orange colour. The aroma is a nice blend of the sweet caramel body and the 6 styles of hops used.
The beer is a mash-up of the Belgian and English IPA styles. The caramel malt backbone is there, and combines well with the restrained hop character. Sweet tropical fruits and a little pine resin are present, without the forward bitterness of many IPAs.
A pleasant beer for a warm afternoon, and a good take on the style from one of Belgium’s new wave of brewmasters.
