by Browar Pinta
The Pinta brewers reckon that the perfect souvenir to bring back from your travels is hops from the local region, and that is the basis of their ‘Hop Tour’ series. It is these souvenir hops that are then the feature of different styles of beer best suited to the types of hops.
Here we have a fresh hop pilsner featuring hops from the Savinja Valley in Slovenia. Bobek as the bittering hop with Styrian Fox, Styrian Wolf, Styrian Dragon and Styrian Aurora for the dry hopping.
The beer pours a glowing yellow gold with a pristine white head. The aroma is all about the malt and hops. All cereal and earthy, grassy hops.
The flavour is fairly crisp with a malty sweetness early on slowly giving in to those Noble Slovenian hops. A distinct bitterness grips the tongue about halfway back and continues for the duration. The beer finishes reasonably dry with a lingering hop bitterness, but there is more sweetness here than a normal pilsner.
This style of beer is so refreshing (not to mention moreish), and with the dry hopping it adds an extra layer of flavour. Just as well this comes in a big can!
