Container Tasting Friday 2nd May 2025

Date
Friday May 2nd, 2025 (18 days ago)
Location
The Beer Shed - 96a Fern Street Islington 2296

OK Guys,

It has taken a while, but we've received our first container for 2025 just before the Easter break which means we need to have our Container Tasting!

With this container we will introduce two new Polish breweries to the Australian market - Funky Fluid and Piwne Podziemie (Beer Underground).  The long weekend allowed time to taste a few of these new beers, and I can happily say they are awesome!

We've got so many new beers on this container it was tricky to decide on just 10, but here goes.

1.  Funky Fluid Free Gelato: Mango Sticky Rice (0.5%) non-ABV ice cream sour with mango and coconut

2.  Uiltje Red Shirt Rodeo Riding (5.7%) red IPA

3.  Fantome Forte d'HIver (8.5%)  strong winter saison with dark and pale malts, Challenger hops, white candi sugar and pepper

4.  Beer Underground Double Ego (8.2%)  double New England IPA

5.  Funky Fluid Florida Vibes: Vibin' (7.2%)  Florida weisse w/ white guava, mango and passionfruit

6.  Uiltje Do Not Eat The Yellow Snow (8.9%)  double IPA powered by Amarillo CGX hops

7.  Funky Fluid Gelato XTREME: Verde (8.0%)  turbo-fruited ice cream sour w/ banana, mango, white guava and kiwi

8.  Beer Underground Katastorfa 2024 (6.0%)  heavyweight peated dark ale

9.  Dubuisson Bush Noel (12.0%)  classic Belgian Christmas beer

10. De Molen Balcones 2024 Imperial Dopplebock (10.9%)  an imperial dopplebock aged in Balcones whisky barrels

How's that for a night out (or in - the Beer Shed)?

When:               Friday 2nd May 2025

Arrive:              from 6pm for a 6.15pm start to the tasting

Where:             the Beer Shed of course - 96a Fern Street Islington in case you haven't been before

As always, I'll have some beer snacks on hand to help you last the distance.

Hoping to see many of you next Friday night.
